Here is the Midtown weekly crime report, for the week ending 10-26-15. For this report, Midtown is the area from 35W to Hiawatha, between 28th and 32nd Streets. The report is attached as a Word file and the text is reprinted below.
There were 16 Part 1 (most serious) crimes reported last week, down from 18 last week. I’m happy to report that violent crime dropped from 7 incidents last week to 3 this week-2 robberies and 1 aggravated assault.
As you probably have heard, an arrest was made in the Oct 13 homicide at Park and Lake. Gerald Nicolas Cepeda, DOB 9/3/65, is in custody at the Hennepin County Jail, awaiting prosecution.

Midtown Area Crime Report, Week of 10-20 to 10-26-15

Midtown is the area between Highway 35W and Hiawatha Ave, between 28th St E and 32ndSt E
- There were 16 Part 1 crimes during the week, down from 18 last week. Part 1 crimes include homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, arson, auto theft and larceny (theft). Public information for all but the larceny incidents appears below.
- There were 3 violent crimes-2 robberies and 1 aggravated assault.
- There were no homicides, rapes, auto thefts or arsons reported during this week.
- There were no business robberies and no business burglaries reported during the week.
Targeted Enforcement Areas
Lake Street (West End) area (29th St E to 32nd St E, 2nd Ave S to Chicago Ave S) was a targeted enforcement area for street crimes this week. Strategies included directed patrols, beat officers, undercover details, Metro Transit PD extra patrol at bus stops, planned security improvements and employee training at a business having numerous problems and Chicago/Lake business crime and safety meeting.
Lake/Bloomington area (28th St E to 31st St E, 12th Ave S to 16th Ave S) was a targeted enforcement area for street crimes this week. Strategies included directed patrols, beat officers, Metro Transit PD extra patrol at bus stops, business outreach meetings-working on setting up a Latino business meeting, business nodes meetings, working with a business to get more lights at 15th & Lake and a lighted camera at 15thand Lake.
Part 1 Crimes in Midtown This Week (Excluding Larceny)
10-20, 11:00 pm 30xx Portland Ave S (Central neighborhood) Victim said he was returning home and when he got near the back of his home two males approached him. One of the suspect took out an approximately 5 inch knife and pointed it at him and demanded that the suspect give him his cellphone and any money he had on him. The victim gave up the cellphone but did not have any money on him. The suspects then left in an unknown direction. The victim did not have any further information. The victim was given a blue card and advised.
10-25, 6:30 am 31st St E & Chicago Ave S (Border of Central and Powderhorn Park neighborhoods) The Victim was punched and his car was stolen by 2 black male suspects. Ambulance was refused and he was given a case card.
Aggravated Assault (1)
10-26, 7:35 pm 29xx Chicago Ave S (Midtown Phillips neighborhood) Assault 2 report taken at the listed location. Adult male and female evaluated by EMS for listed injuries.
10-21, 9:00 am to 10-22. 8:00 pm 30xx 16th Ave S (Powderhorn Park neighborhood) Officers were dispatched to a burglary at the above location. Single family, one story house. Officers met with the reporting party who stated that she was asked to check on the home while the home owner is away. Reporting Person stated that she checked the home at 0900 hours on 10/21/2015 and returned at 2000 hours on 10/22/2015 to find the side door pushed open slightly and damages to the screen on the rear window of the home. Reporting Person checked the home and stated that it appeared the suspect(s) were unable to get into the home. Officers observed pry marks on the side door and a damaged screen on the rear window of the home where the suspects attempted to get into the house. There were no damages or signs of disturbance inside of the home. The home owner was not present at the time of the report. No collectible evidence of suspect information. Reporting Person was given a blue card and advised.
10-23, 10:20 pm to 10-24, 6:30 am 29xx 13th Ave S (Midtown Phillips neighborhood) Unknown suspect entered an attached porch and stole tools.
10-25, 3:22 pm to 7:15 pm 30xx 19th Ave S (Corcoran neighborhood) Victim was leaving his residence at approximately 4:00 pm, when he noticed his front door of his detached garage opened. Noticed tools, a TV and other items missing. Victim was given blue card.

10-20 11xx Lake St E: Fartun Mohamed Hassan issued a citation for Traffic Law Enforcement.
10-20 21xx Lake St E: Nicholas Raymond Vandermillen arrested and booked in Hennepin County Jail for a Gross Misdemeanor Warrant (Assault 4).
10-20 31st St E & 4th Ave S: Erika Marlene Jara issued a citation for Driving After Revocation and No Proof of Insurance.
10-20 28th E & 5th Ave S: Sharif Abdur-Rahman issued a citation for Driving After Suspension, No Drivers License and No Proof of Insurance.
10-21 29xx 15th Ave S: Donna Mae Eagle arrested and booked in Hennepin County Jail for a Gross Misdemeanor Warrant (Prostitution).
10-21 Lake St E & 2nd Ave S: Muhammed Omar Muhammed issued a citation for Driving After Suspension.
10-22 21xx Lake St E: Megan Ann Bauer arrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail for a Felony Warrant and Marijuana in Motor Vehicle; Jorge Luis Felicianoarrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail for Driving After Suspension.
10-23 Lake St E & Park Ave S: Cole Dustin Dalbec arrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail for a Gross Misdemeanor Warrant; James Joseph Kingarrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail for a Gross Misdemeanor Warrant (Contempt of Court).
10-23 2xx Lake St E: Heather Linde Ledford arrested and booked in Hennepin County Jail for 2 Gross Misdemeanor Warrants (Prostitution).
10-24 21xx Lake St E: Christopher Karry Marsh arrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail for Theft, Disorderly Conduct and Consuming in Public.
10-24 8xx Lake St E S: Yolando Deshan Woods arrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail for a Misdemeanor Warrant, Trespassing, and Shoplifting.
10-25 28th St E & Park Ave S: Felix Clavel-Garcia issued a citation for No Drivers License.
10-25 30xx Chicago Ave S: Juvenile issued a citation for Curfew Violation and transported to Juvenile Supervision Center.
10-26 30xx Oakland Ave S: Juvenile arrested for Stolen Property Offense (Felony) and transported to Juvenile Detention Center.
